NYC femcee Jean Grae needs no introduction. The product of South African jazz musicians Sathima Bea Benjamin and Abdullah Ibrahim was born with an ear for music, inherently just like skin tone or eye color. After dropping out of NYU after only attending the prestigious institution for less than a month decided to pursue her passion as an underground lyricist. Even with her thriving solo career prior on the rise, her big break came when she linked up with Grammy Award winning producer 9th Wonder to release their collaborative LP entitled Jeanius. Show after show, project after project, performance after performance Grae has proven that she posses the essential elements needed to evolve in the culture we call hip-hop. Be sure to catch up with her in her latest interview with Three21Media below and catch her performing at AFROPUNK FEST this year as well as at yes you guessed it A3C Music Festival 2013!
