For your listening pleasure this weekend. This was a late breaking Jay Dee tribute cut form yesterday by Big Sean.
The track is worth a listen, but, quite frankly it's not really much of a "tribute" to Jay Dee, but more of a freestyle of a Jay Dee track. I think there's one shout out to Dilla, but then it's mostly about Big Sean's rise to success.
Like I said, it's worth a listen and a download, but if you're looking for a real Jay Dee tribute, you should check out the "Thank You Jay Dee" series from Stones Throw and J Rocc. There is no better way to celebrate the musical genius of the late James Yancey.
