Posted by Big Andy on Jun 23

The A3C Hip Hop Festival organizers announced their first round of partners today for the 5th installment of the annual A3C Hip Hop Festival taking place across multiple venues in the East Atlanta Village October 1-3, 2009.

MySpace, Red Bull, URB Magazine, Frank 151, Stones Throw Records, Okayplayer, Fusicology, Wax Poetics, Definitive Jux, Duck Down Records, Fatbeats, Babygrande, Tres Records, The Hydrilla and The Bench top the list of partners announced today by The A3C Hip Hop Festival.

Brian Knott, A3C Hip Hop Festival founder explains, “When we made our changes for this year, we knew to be successful, we needed the support of the strongest brands in the Hip Hop world to provide fans and industry alike with an event seen in the same light as a SXSW or CMJ Marathon. Our vision is for the A3C to have all facets of Hip Hop converge in one place and at one time, and be the launching point for what’s next in the space. The only way for us to accomplish this goal is through a shared vision with literally hundreds of partners who are shaping the face of Hip Hop culture in the studio, at the record store, on the radio, on the web, and in the streets, on a daily basis.”

The A3C has been fast at work for months with their partners developing day and nighttime music showcases, art installations, equipment demonstrations, street dance events, panel discussions, and networking parties in an effort to bring together many of the most relevant faces in Hip Hop culture.

“Working with the A3C over the last 3 years has been an incredible experience. When we heard about the new format, we were extremely anxious to be involved. The festival's audience is a perfect match for several of our national and international music and break-dance events. The A3C understands how to work with us to credibly communicate Red Bull's innovative programing to attendees. They work closely with us to ensure that we stay true to the Red Bull brand and bring content to true lovers of the Hip Hop community and to advance their art and culture” says Janet Smith (Southeast Culture Marketing Manager for Red Bull North America).

The A3C is continuing to work on additional partnerships to bring the best in Hip Hop programming to the weekend-long festival in Atlanta. Specific showcase, panel, and artist updates will be announced through the festival’s website beginning June 29th and continuing through the event’s start on October 1st. More information about becoming involved in the A3C as an artist, partner, volunteer, or media representative can be found at www.a3cfestival.com.
