Since breaking into the industry 10 years ago, Rick Ross has become one of the biggest bosses in hip-hop. He has made some major moves in this last decade with eight studio albums, the success of his label Maybach Music Group, and owning several locations of the infamous Wingstop franchise. All of these accomplishments would be nothing without the release of his debut album, Port of Miami in 2006.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this classic album, Ross is partnering with Tidal for a live stream concert at the Port of Miami on Aug 29th. Ross will be bring out all the theatrics for this show as well as keeping the theme centered around the enormous hits he has on the album. The two stand out singles from the record are “Hustlin” and “Push It”. Both of these singles sky rocketed the album to No. 1 on the Billboard Charts as well as reaching certified platinum.
With many rappers depicting the hustling lifestyle in their music many have fallen short to present it in a way that it resonates with millions of people. Although Port of Miami is Ross’s first album, it certainly has been one of the most successful albums of his career and set the tone for coke filled anthems years after. The fast paced environment of Miami was filled with drug lord’s endless ambition to make it to the top and the Boss Renzel was able to display his struggle and dreams into one cohesive 19 track project that changed his life and put an imprint in Southern hip-hop.
At this year’s A3C Festival & Conference the boss himself will be performing on the BET Music stage Friday Oct 7th. Be sure to add this show to your schedule because you don’t want to miss this dope performance.
