Mystikal was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been in the Rap game since 1990 and his debut release was in 1994. Mystikal’s style was very hood yet with a lot of baggy clothing, bandannas around his head and he also wore braids.

He is popularly known for his time with No Limit Records. He was a part of the 504 Boys. Mystikal was featured in multiple movies including Hot Boyz and 13 Dead Men.   Even though he looked very different than most rappers out, he had songs that made the crowd move. In 2003, he signed with Cash Money Records.

Mystikal’s most popular song was “Shake Ya A**” which was #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000. It is also known as “Shake It Fast” because of radio edits. The song featured Pharrell Williams on the track as one of the writers.  It is a song that if it is played today, it would still have people twerking. The director of the video was Little X, who is well known for having great concepts and visuals.

He was before his time because he rapped fast with a lot of witty and aggressive lyrics. But honestly for a lot of the lyrics you would need to ha

“Bouncin’ Back (Bumpin Me Against the Wall)” off of Tarantula, was heavily engulfed in New Orleans vibrant culture. The instrumentation of the song includes horns, bass drums, trombones and saxophones.  It’s a song that definitely has Louisiana all over it.

Mystikal started resurfacing when he went to Hip-Hop Nation and during an interview rapped “I’m as a  lion, no hair/ if you see me in the forest with a grizzle bear, HELP THE BEAR…”. That line took the internet by storm being featured on multiple social media pages.

Although Mystikal hasn’t been on the radar, he has been releasing music.  Mystikal released “Monsta” featuring Lil Hood and Y. Luck, which has “Thriller” samples. He still has the same rapping style that he had in his older music. He also released “Robert Dinero” which is a upbeat song about getting the money. Earlier this year, he featured on Trinidad James – Just a Lil’ Thick (She Juicy) along with Lil Dicky.

Mystikal will be performing at A3C Festival & Conference with No Limit on October 9th at 8:30 on the Main Stage at the Festival Grounds.
