An award winning documentary film concerning environmental and political implications of the world’s diminishing water supply may not sound like your normal streetwear collaboration, but with Akomplice on board, this makes it a pretty unique paring.
Akomplice has linked up with the full length documentary feature: "Blue Gold: World Water Wars", to offer a socially conscious line of t-shirts and water bottles that seek to raise awareness for the impending world water crisis. The 2008 documentary film by Sam Bozzo paints a future in which wars are fought over water as investors and governments jockey for control of a diminishing water supply.Akomplice has made use of the film’s provocative cover art of a water jug symbolically retro-fitted as a grenade on a range of three t-shirts.
The Dope thing about this is Akomplice seeks to raise awareness for the cause by offering the full length DVD with the purchase of any Akomplice x Blue Gold product. Akomplice will be donating 100% of the profits from the collaborative capsule collection to the Food & Water Watch, an organization built to ensure the safe and sustainable production of our food and water. Akomplice has taken a stance with this Blue Gold collaboration to protect our most precious resource, and in doing so has opened an avenue of social and political communication with the street-centric consumer that might not otherwise exist.
