A Call To Action. Let's Fight for Social Justice This July 4th #USAction

We want to celebrate July 4th by calling for ACTION!  The urgency of today demands us to be vigilant and pro-active. Words, posts, RTs, and comments are not enough. Nas recently penned an open letter to #45 in which he wrote:

"Action speaks louder than words... no time for lippin' in the so-called 'Trump Era'... My way of addressing these issues is through my work. Whatever president may be in office doesn’t affect my work directly. The way he affects people is what affects me. I observe what’s going on and that goes into my creative process. The person himself, I’m not caught up with. I don’t even have time for Trump or Pence. I don’t give a fuck. My focus is on what’s happening with real people in their everyday lives. How they behave, the decisions they make, and how that affects families. I grew up in a single-parent household, so I was affected by that life. But it didn’t stop me. So I speak to the everyday people. I speak to everybody. If the people are bothered by it, I speak on it. If the people are bothered and want change, I speak on that."

We are spending today - and the entire week - searching for new, innovative ideas that use art, music and hip-hop culture as a vehicle to advance social justice and civic engagement.  We would like to invite organizations from around the country to submit their ideas for the 3rd annual A3C Action Pitch Competition.

A3C Action Pitch Competition is a partnership with the Center for Civic Innovations and Hip Hop Caucus. We have just joined forces with Hip Hop Caucus to co-program the Action Summit and increase our impact.

The application deadline has been extended to July 17, 2017 at 11:59pm EST
