This year’s A3C Festival & Conference is filled with hundreds of artists whether they be upcoming independents or well-known chart-toppers. The hip-hop scene in Atlanta has been growing rapidly over the years. Although Atlanta is infamous for its southern trap sound, many different styles have come out of the music mecca. Here are a few dope Atlanta artists set to make waves at A3C 2016.
Forte Bowie
A master of all arts from singing, rapping, producing, songwriting and djaying, Forte has been maneuvering heavily through the underground ATL music scene. His career has developed over the years with the release of two mixtapes in 2011 and his collaboration with Trinidad James on the self-produced track “South Side.” While being signed to Think It’s a Game Records alongside Rich Homie Quan and YFN Lucci, Forte has been an influencer for r&b artist Jaquees as well as many other upcoming artists.

Kap G
Repping the streets of College Park, Ga, Kap G has made a name for himself in Atlanta’s music scene. While only being in the game for three years, Kap has been able to grab the attention of many influential artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Pharell, and T.I. He has even contributed political commentary to CNN on the struggles of being a Mexican-American in a society that is flooded with racial conflict.

Scotty ATL
The Cool Club representer Scotty ATL is putting on for the south with a style of his own. Studying legendary artists such as Outkast, 8Ball & MJG, Tupac, Biggie, and UGK has lead Scotty to present that southern swagger along with influential lyrical wordplay. His sound has elevated throughout his career with the release of several mixtapes from The Jiffy Cornbread Experience to Spaghetti Junction. In 2014 he inked a deal with B.O.B’s label imprint No Genre and took his talents nationwide with his very own Cool Club Tour.

YFN Lucci
The young and fly YFN Lucci has been one of the hot new emerging talents out of Atlanta. Starting his rapping career at the age of 16 from the influence of his older brother “K,” Lucci has been able to mold his style into something great. He was able to contribute hits by collaborating with fellow Atlanta artist Johnny Cinco and released two records on Cinco’s “John Popi” mixtape in 2014. His talent produced enough buzz for him to land a record deal with Think It’s a Game Records with Rich Homie Quan and Trinidad James.

Miloh Smith
Miloh Smith is a rapper, songwriter, and visual artist coming from Marietta, Ga. By being one the few female artists on our list Miloh has gained her influence by listening to Destiny’s Child, TLC, and Brandy growing up. Although she doesn’t possess the sex appeal or glamor of many female artists, MIloh takes pride in being herself and presenting an image that all women can relate too.

OJ Da Juiceman
The OG of the list is the Atlanta legend OJ Da Juiceman. Oj has been changing the rap game in Atlanta since 2003 with his frequent collaborations with Gucci Mane. After forming his own label 32 Entertainment, he has released six mixtapes and two official albums titled “The Otha Side of The Trap” and “The Otis Williams Jr. Story.” Each tape has had numerous singles that have had the trap booming for years.

Money Makin Nique
The South and East Coast combine to bring a new laid-back and innovative flow with Money Makin Nique. Nique is one of the many new artists contributing dope new music to the New Atlanta movement. In 2014 he released key mixtapes “Guyana Gold,” “Lucky Buddha” EP with fellow artist J.I.D, and the “Extra” EP with Johnny Cinco. By providing an arsenal of versatile flows, it is no surprise that he has been able to share the same stage with Curren$y, 2 Chainz, and Juvenile.

Yung Baby Tate
Pure talent comes in all forms and Tate exemplifies her creativity in many ways. She is a singer, songwriter, producer and composer coming straight out of East Atlanta. Out of all the artists featured on this list she is the newest and has a versatile sound that combines 90s R&B, pop and an Atlanta trap influence. Her debut EP, ROYGBIV gives a good representation of her eclectic sound of self-produced tracks that combine soothing harmonies over vibrant melodies.
