5 DJs to Catch Spinning at A3C 2016

A party wouldn’t exist without a great Dj leading the way with a dope mix to move the crowd. We look to the Dj to introduce us to new music and break new talent. At this year’s A3C festival we have several new and established Djs setting the tone in Hip-hop.

The Toronto native Dj OHSO has been supplying dope mixes and mashups since 2012. Now residing in Atlanta, Ga, OHSO has been using her title as the “Chop Goddess” to rock events from Toronto to Miami. She is currently the official Dj for Oakland artist Kamaiyah and teaches new DJs the art of mixing at the Scratch Academy at both the Atlanta and Miami locations.

 Perfecting his craft for over 20 years, DJ Nabs aka The Mad Dj has been rocking shows with artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Michael Jackson, and Jagged Edge. After hearing his talent on Atlanta’s WVEE radio, Jermaine Dupri and Nabs collaborated with Dupri’s teen rap group Kriss Kross as well as acts such as Da Brat and Xcsape.

 DJ Jelly is “The Stamp of Approval” when it comes to the southern rap scene. One of the OGs in hip-hop, Jelly has been an influencer and pioneer for breaking new talent in the south. Artist such as Outkast, T.I., Timbaland and Drake have all been introduced to the southern market by this legendary DJ. One of the few who still cherish the art of old school dj techniques, Dj Jelly has used his cutting and scratching skills to open his own independent label Big Oomp Records and continue to move the culture forward.

 

DJ Croc

 DJ Croc is bringing the UK Hip-Hop and Grime scene to A3C 2016. He got his start in the late 80s, playing on sound systems at house parties while building his resume as a well-rounded Dj. From dance hall, old school hip-hop, and soul, Croc has all the elements to make any party a memorable experience. He is the co-founder of House Party UK and has made frequent appearances on MTV Raps in London and Birmingham. He also hosted the UK Hip-Hop Takeover at last year's A3C festival.

Mr. DJ is known for being on of the top DJsand producers in the music industry. Best known for being Outkast’s original Dj and contributing production on “Ms. Jackson” and the album “Speakerboxxx/Love Below,” Mr. DJ has been a pioneer in the sound of hip-hop. His diverse sound and ability to transpose music of all genres has led him to receive several Grammy awards and platinum plaques. He has contributed his classic sound to other artist such as J.Cole, Jay-Z, Lenny Kravits, and Cee-Lo Green. 

Be sure to set your A3C schedule accordingly in order to hear each of these great DJs spin.
