Where are you from?
NYC
How has your city and influenced your music?
New York has always been the staple of hip hop in my eyes. I think we always made it a point to showcase lyricism all while incorporating melodic flows within many of our records so I try my best to incorporate both of those things in my music.
What song, video or project are you most proud of to date?
The video I'm most proud of to date is "In My City". When I created the song I also envisioned the video to look a certain way. I wanted to showcase NYC of course but I also wanted to be sure I showed some love to Hell's Kitchen specifically. I also wanted the color scheme in specific scenes to be different from what you usually see in videos. Thanks to Mark D'Souza and the whole Lambkini team we were able to meet that goal.
What do you enjoy about bout being a hip-hop artist?
The one thing I enjoy about being an artist is knowing that your music can change lives. I also enjoy the fact that while listening to my music someone somewhere in the world can relate to my experiences or feelings being discussed.
What can people expect from you over the next 6 months?
In the next 6 months expect a lot more visuals and good music being put out. My usual game is quality over quantity but I plan on providing both over the next 6 months.
What advice would you give to yourself a few years ago?
The advice I would give myself a few years ago is to be patient and prepared. Meeting your goals in this game is a time consuming process so patience is key. You never know when an opportunity will present itself so it's best to always be prepared.
What do you most look forward to about A3C Festival & Conference?
A3C brings out such a multitalented group of artists that I am most looking forward to meeting and networking with them. I'm also looking forward to some of the panels/keynotes that are lined up such as the Music and Law panel discussion and Ryan Leslie keynote.
