Oh where art thou Meek Mill? Well, we know he is probably on some island right about now with Nicki, but seriously get back to the music.
In recent news Meek Mill’s anticipated Dream Chasers 4 was rumored to release on April 29, the same day as Drake’s “Views From The 6” album. Surprisingly enough the release was delayed and no new release dates have been set. So what’s the hold up?
Earlier this year Meek kept the beef brewing between him and Drake by dropping part two of his 4/4 ep, with the highlight song “War Pain,” the same time “Summer Sixteen” premiered on OVO Radio. The momentum was rolling for him with this release, as it was a blatant diss record to the man in Toronto and arguably the best diss he’s dropped yet.
Since the release there has been no new developments on when Dream Chasers 4 would drop. All we’ve gotten since then are small previews of records off the album on Meek and Nikki Minaj’s instagram pages.
It is safe to say that Meek Mill’s house arrest has played a key role in the delay of the album due to not being able to properly promote and tour the new music. Many Drake fans have reason to believe that the release is delayed because of the great success “Views” received during its first week release and Meek is not trying to get the short end of the stick as far as billboard numbers go.
Either way the hip-hop community is anxious to see if the Philly rapper can bounce back from all the scrutiny he has received in the media and drop a solid body of work we all know he is capable of doing. The real question remains, when will Dream Chasers 4 actually drop and will it live up to the hype and propel Meek Mill’s career or continue to tarnish his reputation?
