3 Full Days of Hip Hop Entertainment at A3C

(ATLANTA – Sept. 29, 2009) There is something for all fans of Hip Hop music and culture at the A3C Hip Hop Festival. The annual event offers three, packed days of live Hip Hop entertainment. In its fifth year, the A3C descends on the East Atlanta Village Oct. 1 – 3.

Programs on Thursday, Oct. 1 include an URB Showcase at the 529, Beatz and Lyrics 10th Anniversary at Ice House, iStandard Producer Battle at the Graveyard and the Red Bull Music Academy at the Earl. Thursday night artists include Black Sheep, B.o.B, 9th Wonder, Collective Efforts, Da Beatminerz, Tanya Morgan and more.

Friday, Oct. 2 highlights include the Duck Down Record Showcase at the Ice House, Women in Hip Hop at My Sisters Room, Interdependent Media & Mello Music Group at the Ice House, I Wear the Crown at the 529, Syntax & Embedded Showcase at the 529 and the Grammy U Panel & Mixer at the Graveyard. Artists performing on Friday include Kidz in the Hall, Bisc 1, Lee Harvey Oswald, Tiye Phoenix and Jake One amongst others.

Saturday, Oct. 3 activities include The Release at the Ice House, Speakeasy Showcase at the 529, Savannah & Jacksonville Showcase at the 529, Tru Skool Daze at the Ice House, Afternoon Delight at the 529, ASCAP Producer Panel at the Graveyard, IndieHitMaker Panel at My Sisters Room and live mural painting at the Eastside Lounge. Saturday’s artists feature Rakim, Killer Mike, People Under the Stairs, Clan Destined, Vonnegut, Hollyweerd, Psyche Origami and many more.

Events likes Perfect Attendance at the Five Spot, Can’t Live Without My Radio Art Show at 482 A. Flat Shoals Avenue and album listening parties at the Blue Frog Cantina occur all three days of the festival with a variety of artists. Performers at the A3C include independent and signed, male and female, emcees, bands, DJs, b-boys and b-girls, graffiti writers and more. Activities include panel discussions, film screenings, battles, live art and of course performances. ABOUT THE A3C: Now in its 5th year, the A3C Hip Hop Festival is a 2-day, 3-night event held annually in Atlanta, GA featuring live performances from some of Hip Hop’s most elite artists. The live performance schedule is enhanced by day and evening events showcasing some of the most exciting breakdance, graphic art, fashion, film, equipment demonstrations and panels relating to Hip Hop culture.

The 2009 A3C is held in multiple venues all located within easy walking distance of each other in the East Atlanta Village. Since 2005, the event has featured over 300 of the most exciting artists in Hip Hop including: The Juice Crew, Biz Markie, Del the Funky Homosapien, The Clipse, Souls of Mischief, Little Brother, Wale and B.o.B. In 2008, the A3C was attended by over 9,000 fans and featured partnerships and co-sponsored events with MySpace, Red Bull, Scion, URB, Pabst Blue Ribbon and New Era.
