Artist Name
RoQy TyRaiD

Where are you from?
Phoenix

How has your city and influenced your music?
Phoenix, Arizona is host to an indescribable amount of talent. The emcees, the DJs, the street artists, the street dancers. Our city is a microcosm of the international realm of Hip Hop. Due to Arizona, not just Phoenix, being an isolated region, we have an intimate relationship with the culture. Meaning, there isn't a lot of room for emcees to share, which fuels the competitive spirit. The need to constantly stay on your creative toes has conditioned this Southern Californian transplant to always give his best.

What song, video or project are you most proud of to date?
Although I have some incredible hallmarks in my career, appreciatively, one of my most proud moments was landing on The World Famous Wake Up Show for the first time. Consequently, I was invited to be a part of the history of their show, through their Unplugged Series. Check it out!

What do you enjoy about bout being a hip-hop artist?
Being a hip hop artist is like getting the Creative Backstage Pass of fandom. It's appreciation and involvement from an entirely different level. Not only am I able to involve myself with a culture so rich and revolutionary, there is also the opportunity to be that source inspiration, therapy, hope, happiness, rage, introspection, love, hopelessness for the next man, woman, and child. I view it from an altruistic perspective, but you do, at times realize the impact your individual love, for something of this magnitude, has on the next person. You know??

What can people expect from you over the next 6 months?
You can expect more music. You can expect more visuals. You can expect me to continue to push the creative envelope of lyricism and creativity. You can expect my album The Dichotomy of RoQy TyRaiD. You can expect more shows in your areas. You can expect life.

What advice would you give to yourself a few years ago?
Not everything has to be perfect to be "perfect". Go.

What do you most look forward to about A3C Festival & Conference?
The opportunity to engage with the participants of the culture back in Atlanta. I can appreciate how accessible everyone is, at A3C. It's a sensory overload: new music from creators, stamps of approval from curators, the enlightening and educational panels.. the opportunity to KILL THE STAGE. That right there is paramount. I can't wait to check the other dope acts out there and run through a couple ciphers, and such. But rocking that stage and earning the respect of the heads is front & center. See yall in October.
