In the spirit of academia and competition, the A3C Pro-Audio Experience is a three day celebration of hip-hop's backbone: the beat. On the cerebral side, PAE opens with a keynote address from Young Guru, the oft-shouted out engineer behind a plethora of Jay Z hits, and later includes a "How to Make Your Drums Bigger" lecture by Symbolyc One and a panel discussion on sampling that features Focus..., Diamond D, Spearhead X, M16 Beats, Kato and 808 Blake of SMKA. The competition portion of the Pro-Audio Experience is highlighted by the world famous iStandard Producer Showcase.
For the sixth consecutive year, A3C and iStandard will partner for the A3C Pro-Audio Experience on Thursday, October 3, from the Soundstage at the SAE Institute in Atlanta. The iStandard Producer Showcase will pit 24 of the hottest young producers against each other in a tournament of tunes, judged by EZ Elpee (Nas, Junior Mafia, CNN), M16 (Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy), The Fr3shmen (Cassie, Fabolous), iStandard alum Symbolyc One aka S1(Kanye West, Beyonce, Eminem), The Olympicks (Rick Ross, Drake, Big Sean) and Needlz (Bruno Mars, 50 Cent, Drake).
Also of note during the three-day beat bonanza will be multiple filmings of the "3 Questions" interview series, headed by A3C founder Brian Knott. Featuring three randomly chosen questions about an artist's creative process — many submitted by A3C participants and fans — the interviews are scheduled to include The Olympicks, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Diamond D, Focus..., M16 Beats, Young Guru, DJ Premier, DJ Burn One and more. When one of the premiere events at the country's largest hip-hop festival is a producer showcase and lecture series, the commitment to the culture is unquestionable.
