Starting in 1995, North by Northeast (NXNE) is an annual music and arts festival held in Toronto, Canada. Much like it's sister-festival SXSW, NXNE focuses on local, independent and unsigned music, but also incorporates a digital interactive media conference, visual arts, a film festival and a comedy circuit. In 2013, over 35,000 people from across North America and overseas attended the festival.
For the first time in NXNE history, A3C received the opportunity to hold a collaborative showcase at the 2014 Festival. Based off the concept of the A3C x SXSW Showcase that happened earlier this year, "The Best In Show' shines a light on several independent artists from North American markets. This showcase also marks the first time A3C is crossing the border into Canada, bringing along A3C's own history, values and talent. This showcase also symbolizes building bridges between the American and Canadian markets and developing relationships that benefit unsigned artists on both sides of the border.
We're proud to announce the first-ever "Best In Show" Showcase as a part of the 2014 NXNE Festival. The showcase will take place June 20th, 2014 at Studio Bar in Toronto.
