Zip K Picks Up the Tempo this Year at A3C

Written by Ashley Vance | Sep 28

If you’re a fan of real hip-hop music, you’re in for a treat when Zip K hits the stage this year at A3C!

Zip K has been climbing the rap ranks for a few years now. Born in Decatur, Ga., the Atlanta native has made it his mission to revamp the seemingly unimpressive music scene. Taking the game by storm and creating his own definition of the phrase “up and coming artist,” we can always rely on his lyrical talent to shed light on an array of topics that most rappers consider uncharted territory.

He appropriately views himself a storyteller, fluid in rhyme and melody. Zip K’s debut album titled “404 ERROR” is a play on words targeting his disconnect to the usual “rap” music that’s typically exported out of Atlanta. With a star-studded list of features including Two-9 Jace, 6lack, and G.O.O.D Music’s CyHi the Prince, the album is a must-listen for any Atlanta native.

As addictive as that tracklist was, his follow-up EP "Rotten Peaches" raised the bar. Gifting us with 5 tracks rooted in honesty and millennial culture, he kept it real by sharing his perspective on society’s accepted gender roles and highlighting the most relatable downfalls of the modern day situationship.

But don’t be fooled --- this MC does more than just put pen to paper. Zip K’s impressive discography is nothing compared to his performance ability. Sharing stages with Lil Uzi Vert, G-Eazy, A$AP Ferg, and more, it’s safe to say that he’s more than comfortable standing at center stage.
