Pull up! Leading up to the A3C Festival and Conference you can attend our A3C Social Club monthly mixers to mingle amongst music industry influencers, artists, creatives, and hip hop fans. The A3C Social club is a way for the greater Atlanta Hip-Hop community to connect, collaborate and build with one another. It’s also terrific way to stay connected with dope shows, content and information regarding the festival year round.
The best part? It's free! Networking events are a great opportunity to meet other like minded individuals and introduce yourself. Before we indulge in drinks, tunes and some summer fun, let’s go over a few networking do’s and don’ts while attending the A3C Social Club.
DO: COME PREPARED
Business cards are always a networking necessity, however, in today’s digital world all you need is a cellphone (preferably equipped with a contact card). Business cards provide everything one needs to know about your skill set and how to contact you may they want to collaborate or use your services in the future.
DON'T: COME ALONE
Although networking events are about socializing while meeting new people, the more the merrier! If you have your own network or personal collective that your work with, this can only contribute to the networking and fun. Just be sure to still go out of your comfort zone and mix and mingling with some unfamiliar faces.
DON’T: BE TIMID
The goal is to really put yourself out there. You know who you are, now let the world know! To put your best foot forward you should prepare an elevator pitch to let people know your role in the Hip-Hop community, your skills, accomplishments and goals. Listening, learning and engaging in friendly conversation is key. Be sure to great people with a smile, be personable and have a positive attitude.
DO: DRESS TO IMPRESS
You know there’s going to be cameras flashing. Whether it’s the photographer at the mixer event, you hop in the photo booth for some photo fun or it’s time for a personal selfie, you want to look your best. Make sure your swag is impeccable and you present yourself properly. Rocking any personal branded fashions such as logo t-shirts or hat are always a plus as well.
DO: DRINK RESPONSIBLY
Yes, I’m sure many of us support a good turn up, especially since this monthly event is sponsored by Seagram's Gin. However there’s a time a place for everything. You do not want to be remembered as that person who couldn’t drink handle their drinks and ends up slurring their words or making a fool of themselves. This simply result in self sabotage and isn’t a good look for you or your brand.
*BONUS TIP* Last but not least be sure to have fun! At the end of the day it’s all about coming together to meet new people, enjoying the atmosphere and having a good time. Be sure to share, tag, and hashtag your experience with A3C and friends. Positive vibes only!
Be sure to stay plugged and RVSP to the next A3C Social Club. You don’t want to miss this event!
