Jeff Carvalho Blends Tech, Music and Fashion Effortlessly for A3C

Featured Speakers are some of the most important people in attendance at A3C Festival & Conference. While artists bring the entertainment and mystique, panelists and brand reps serve as important educational sources for those aspiring to make a mark in the music industry. A3C never falls short with its list of speakers, and one of the most anticipated attendees of this year’s event is Jeff Carvalho, editor at Highsnobiety.

Carvalho’s career in media traces back a long way, beginning with his first new media venture, Transcasts. Transcasts served primarily as an online aggreagtor of electronic music, a tool that Carvalho was way ahead of the curve with. In 2005 during further internet pursuits, he met Rob Heppler, a key designer for Nike during the “dunks” sneaker trend. The two joined forces and started a podcast, titled The Drop. From there, he partnered up with David Fischer of Titel Media and launched Selectism, a men’s lifestyle site.

Nowadays, Carvalho is busy with Highsnobiety, the brother site of Selectism. Highsnobiety is a fashion forward publication that comes in both print and web format, and is tailored toward streetwear, sneakers, high end fashion and music. All of these things are personal interests of Carvalho, who blends them seamlessly with tasteful design.

Carvalho has been a highly sought after figure in the media due to his affluency with technology and “DIY” attitude. He has contributed to a number of projects in media, including the book 101 Innovation Breakthroughs.

Carvalho will be speaking at a number of events for A3C this year, and it’s advised that anyone interested in the crossroads of tech, music and fashion listen closely to what he says.
