Da Boi Lay, formerly known as Yung L.A., is an American rap artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Much of L.A.’s success began back in early 2008 when he signed with T.I. and Grand Hustle Records. The same year L.A. dropped his most popular song to date “Ain’t I,” which featured T.I. and Young Dro. “Aint I” soon got the attention of Billboard, and even got L.A. a certified platinum plaque. L.A. has worked with East Atlanta legend Gucci Mane, Travis Porter, Bankroll Fresh, and many other Atlanta artists who were on the come-up doing this particular era of music.
After signing with Interscope Records in late 2008, Young L.A. released his second biggest hit, “Futuristic Love,” ft Ricco Barino in 2009. Unfortunately, the song did not do as well as L.A.’s initial single release but still made it to the Billboard Hot 100. Once the music began to change in the music industry, so did the preferences of audiences who supported artists like Soulja Boy, OJ Da Juiceman, and Yung L.A. The last confirmed source about L.A. verified that the futuristic rapper left Grand Hustle, and was dropped from Interscope.
