Erick Sermon is a pioneer in the music industry. He has made his name known by the industry by having multiple albums, producing songs for a wide variety of artist and songs featured in films.
1. Erick Sermon has produced for some of the top names in Hip-Hop and other genres.
He’s produced for artist from KRS-One, Ja Rule, Lil Wayne, Jay-z, Redman and many more. In a two decade span he proceed songs on some of the most well-known artist. He helped make Hip-Hop music what it is today because of the artist that he has produced for.
2. Erick Sermon is half of the most sampled group in Hip-Hop. Erik was the “E” in EPMD which stands for “Erik and Parrish Making Dollars”. They had 4 consecutive #1 albums which had never been accomplished in Hip-Hop. While they amazing samples from artist like Luther Vandross others were looking to sample them. The group was sampled in “Ryde or Die” by the Ruff and other songs.
3. He was engulfed in Hip-Hop by also being the first endorser of Lugz. Lugz was one of the top brands in the industry when it came to styles.
4. Music in movies is very important and it set the tone particular scenes. Erick Sermon had a strong hand in music for films, Juice, Low Down Dirty Shame, Blade, How to Be A Player, Rush Hour 2, Barber Shop, Honey and How High all feature songs that he wrote and or performed. There are more movies but those are some of the most popular songs.
5. Number don’t lie when it comes to 20 years in the game, over 70 million albums sold, and produced and wrote on over 65 albums. There aren’t many people in the game that have done those number with this much success. It is all about building a career and not just taking it for granted.
He is definitely a trailblazer in the Hip-Hop industry when it comes to producing.
