A3C and the Atlanta Public Schools’ Office of Teaching and Learning is pleased to announce a new partnership intended to increase APS student awareness of career opportunities in the Atlanta entertainment industry.
A3C will host 25 Atlanta Public School seniors to experience the A3C Conference and Action Summit for Social Justice. These seniors will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals, interact with up-and-coming artists, and gain invaluable insight and information as they prepare to enter the next chapter of their lives.
Additionally, A3C and APS are developing a partnership to develop meaningful ways to integrate hip-hop into curriculum and classroom settings.
“The partnership between APS and A3C provides a unique opportunity for our fine and performing arts students. Students interested in new and innovative ways to utilize their skills in the music industry will learn from the best and brightest in the field. These professionals will be an inspiration for our students to start them on a track for success in college or careers in the music industry.” - Dr. Sara Womack, Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator
“The A3C partnership will expose Atlanta Public Schools’ students to entertainment professionals, industry trends and innovative practices. More importantly, this experience supports our quest to build a competent talent pool of knowledgeable and highly-skilled potential employees to meet the growing demands of the entertainment/marketing industry in this region.” - Dr. Michael Maze, CTAE Director
“Exposing our learners to careers and opportunities in Atlanta’s booming entertainment industry is another step in ensuring that our students graduate college and career ready. The A3C festival is one of our nation’s leading conferences on hip-hop and the entertainment industry. The ground breaking work they have done with aspiring entrepreneurs and within our greater community is laudable. They already have partnerships with Georgia State and a number of other educational institutions. I am very excited that we are able to provide this type of exposure to our learners.” - Dr. Zackory Kirk, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
