Sonny Digital has been one of the many super producers leading the way in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. By providing an onslaught of versatile and upbeat club bangers, Sonny has solidified himself as a go-to producer who will always provide you with a hit. Here are a few top-charting singles that we still love to hear in the club.
Racks (YC ft Future)
This track single-handedly launched Sonny Digital’s career back in 2011. Before artist YC got ahold of this audio gem, Sonny sent the instrumental to several different artists who passed on a potential hit. The record went on to move over 500,000 units making it RIAA Certified Gold. Since the release of the track, Future and Sonny have been frequent collaborators.
Same Damn Time (Future)
Same Damn Time was released in March 2012 and was the fourth single on Future’s debut album Pluto. This was by far one of the biggest bangers of the year due to the hard intensive 808s and trap melodies alongside Future’s catchy lyrics that took over the internet. The song would go on to peak at No.12 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts. The remix featuring P.Diddy and Ludacris was added on Future’s re-release of Pluto titled Pluto 3D.
Birthday Song (2 Chainz ft Kanye West)
Many creative talents went into making this song a hit record. The original production was altered by Kanye West and Sonny Digital to form the masterpiece we have today. The song was the second single from 2 Chainz "Based on a T.R.U Story" album and went on to reach 2x Platinum certification in November 2014.
I Don’t Sell Molly No More (ILoveMakonnen)
The energy crazed single "I Don’t Sell Molly No More," is bound to get you hype even for those who are drug-free. Sonny provides a simple yet melodic beat that features lyrics from ILoveMakonnen about his drug dealing past. A remix of the song was later released with a verse from Wiz Khalifa as well as an exclusive verse from Gucci Mane.
Tuesday (ILoveMakonnen ft. Drake)
Probably the most successful record in Sonny’s catalog, Tuesday is still a hit to remember. This Metro Boomin collaboration skyrocketed to No.2 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts in 2014 in which he received a platinum plaque and Grammy nomination. Although Makonnen was the original spear-header of the track, the addition of Drake on the song made it that much more iconic.
