After emerging onto the mainstream music scene in 2011, Atlanta-born producer Mike WiLL Made-It has been a fixture on the billboard charts. Whether producing pop bangers for Miley Cyrus or trap cuts for the Migos, the 26 year-old mastermind a continuously dominated on radio rotations across the country. Let’s take a look back at some of his best work.
Everyone loves a good posse cut. In 2014, Future unleashed “Move that Dope,” a high energy club banger laced with a Pusha T verse and arguably some of the most memorable bars of Pharrell’s rap efforts. Let’s hope Future and Mike WiLL drop their collaborative effort, “Ape Shit,” sooner than later.

When “No Flex Zone” began dominating radio waves, the jury was still out for Rae Sremmurd. The duo had an undeniable hit on their hands, but many listeners thought they would fade into obscurity and join the list of one-hit wonders. “No Type” proved the Sremmurd brothers have more than just one trick up their sleeves.

Cranking out vibes for the who's who of trap rappers is one thing. Rihanna’s “Pour It Up” proved that Mike WiLL Made-It’s formula could be just as effective for pop hits. The song became the fourth of Mike Will’s career to earn platinum status.

After years of grinding on the mixtape scene, Meek Mill was able to get his first taste of mainstream of success. “Tupac Back” was the first song to earn both Meek and Mike Will spots on the US Rap and R&B charts. This success played a big part in Mike WiLL’s decision to drop out of school at Georgia State University and pursue music full time.

As 2 Chainz worked to make his mark as a solo artist--the Drake assisted, Mike WiLL produced “No Lie” helped push the rapper to new levels. The track served as the lead single off 2 Chainz debut album and went on to achieve platinum status.

For years, Gucci Mane has served as somewhat of a gatekeeper for the Atlanta underground rap scene. Many rappers and producers have been able to gain traction by working alongside “Mr. Zone 6.” Mike Will has stated that Gucci Mane was the first major artist to rap on one of his beats which paved the way for him to work other rappers around Atlanta.

Mike WiLL sites Three 6 Mafia as a major influence on his musical career. But in 2012, Three 6 co-founder Juicy J tapped the young producer for the lead single off of his album Stay Trippy. “Bandz A Make Her Dance,” earned Juicy J some new young fans and his first platinum single as a solo artist.
