Too Short (A3C Artist Spotlight)

Written by Quinelle | Jul 23

Todd Anthony Shaw BKA Too Short is one of the few living legends left in hip-hop. Known best for his 2006 hit, "Blow the Whistle". Shaw got his start in the form of a rap group called The Dangerous Crew during the mid 80's. His first well received track was "The World Is Filled...", a feature verse on The Notorious B.I.G.'s Life After Death LP. The record increased his audience and led to collaborations with 8Ball & MJG, Jay-Z, Jermaine Dupri, Sean Combs, E-40, Daz Dillinger, Lil' Jon, Soopafly and Scarface on his eighth studio album, Can't Stay Away. In the fall of 2008 Too Short was honored by VH1 at the fifth annual "Hip-Hop Honors" in addition to Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Slick Rick and Naughty By Nature. In 2011, he was recruited by Wiz Khalifa's hit song "On My Level". Too Short say's the best verse he has ever recorded is a verse for Dr. Dre's Detox called "Man's Best Friend (Pussy)". Though we may never hear that verse, we will see him at A3C Music Festival 2013 this year. Check him out below on DJ Chuckie's "Makin' Papers" along with Lupe Fiasco & Snow Tha Product.
