Morehouse College and A3C are proud to announce the launch of The Formula at the 11th annual A3C Festival & Conference in Atlanta, GA.

After an academic meet with Rakim at the Festival & Conference in 2009, Morehouse and A3C began formal collaborations in 2014 with a series of academic dialogues that ranged from “in conversation” with Scarface to social justice panels with artists, academics and activists.  This year, the College and A3C have developed a curriculum that extends panels into workshops and maker spaces that are hip-hop informed and community driven.  This initial year of The Formula is designed to provide a baseline from which the the hip-hop everyman can scale issues and topics within the culture more globally.

The Morehouse and A3C partnership will extend beyond the five-day Festival with co-sponsored hip-hop “cultural representatives” at Morehouse and throughout the City allowing for an innovative and authentic embrace of hip-hop culture in Atlanta year-round.

A3C is the one of the largest annual gatherings of hip-hop creatives, minds and influencers in the world.  Morehouse is a storied liberal arts college that has served as an incubator for social justice giants since its establishment in 1867. It holds as central a tradition of developing outstanding leaders -- particularly Black men leaders having graduated cultural innovators Martin Luther King, Jr., Saul Williams, Maynard Jackson, Spike Lee, Keith “GURU” Elam of Gang Starr and others.
