Ready for some hip hop nostalgia?

20 years ago Queensbridge rap duo Prodigy and Havoc aka Mobb Deep released Hell on Earth, their third studio album and follow up to The Infamous (1995).

Hell on Earth featured modern-day G.O.A.T’s such as Nas, Raekwon, Method Man and other emcees. The project peaked at No.1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts in 1996 and was certified Gold by the RIAA the following year. The self-produced classic also includes notable singles like “Drop a Gem on Em” and "Still Shinin"

Many hip-hop heads and music enthusiasts consider 1996 as a golden-area—mainly because of the many debuts (Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Busta Rhymes, etc.) and legendary albums (2Pac, Jay z, Nas, Fugees, etc.)

Furthermore, it was a time when gangster rap (and rap music in general) was uber mainstream in a way that dominated charts and sold records.

Earlier this year, Prodigy and Havoc went on a 38-city tour in celebration of the albums’ 20th anniversary. The duo also plans on releasing a special edition of Hell on Earth featuring un-released tracks from 1996. Currently, Prodigy and Havoc are performing at venues oversees.
