In the mid to late 90s a war was waged in hip hop. One that took the lives of two of our most prominent icons. Today a new conflict is brewing. One between the old guard who struggles to defend the classic elements of the culture and the new generation who strives to create a new lane for themselves, many times, by shunning the standards that came before them. Is ageism a thing in hip hop? And if so…whose side are you on?
