Nappy Roots, Nick Grant, Skyzoo J-Live and more perform "ATLiens" Tribute Show #A3C96

ATLiens is the soundtrack of Atlanta.

A year after Andre 3000 declared “The south got something to say” at the Source Awards, Outkast dropped ATLiens and changed the trajectory of the Atlanta, the city’s music scene and hip-hop culture in general.  It drew attention from New York City and Los Angeles to Atlanta, and provided a spark for a movement.  The album created a spotlight on the city and a platform for other artists.  The result 20 years later?  Hip-hop music now defines the city and has become Atlanta’s largest export.  Today, the city is undoubtedly capital of hip-hop.

We’ve called upon some of our favorite southern artists influenced by ATLiens to work along with Mr. DJ (Legendary DJ/Producer for Outkast) on the turntables and an allstar  band.

The artists performing ATLiens include: Nappy Roots, Nick Grant, Kelechi, Skyzoo, Chase N Cashe, J-Live, Deante Hitchcock, Izzy Jone$, Chilly Chills, Michael Aristotle, 3D Na'Tee, Forte Bowie, Phay, Goldyard, Yani Mo, Apollo Ali, Jaye Newton, Jack Preston and special guests.

This show will take place on Saturday, Oct 7th as part of the 1996 Show with Bone Thugs, Too Short, Def Squad and Bun B... all of whom released classic albums in 1996.
