A large part of what we do here at A3C relates to engaging and empowering our local community. There are a plethora of organizations that we support and we'd like our larger A3C community to be just as plugged in. Check out these small grants that are great for organizations and individuals, including children and youth.
Grants, up to $5,000, are available to non-profit organizations and tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community. Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services.
Deadline: April 30
Grants are given to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Three of those are chosen to receive the top awards of an additional $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000. At least one award will be granted in each of the 50 United States.
Everyday Young Heroes are young people, ages 5-25, who are improving their communities through service to others and making significant progress in achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each week, YSA selects one young person to receive this honor. Each selected Hero receives a congratulatory letter, a certificate of recognition, and is highlighted in YSA's newsletter and on social media, raising the profile of his or her good work. Thanks to generous support from Newman's Own Foundation, YSA will also select 12 winners throughout 2017 - one per month - to receive $250 grants to continue and expand their project. www.YSA.org/awards/eyh
