Casey Veggies is bringing Cali Trees to the Warehouse

Written by Micah 'Shinobi X' Jennings | Sep 20

Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Casey Veggies has been on the rise as one of the young standout artists in our generation. Veggies began rapping at an early age under the name “Custom.” His first mixtape was released at the age of 14 titled “Customized Greatly Vol.1.” Casey was one of the founding members of Odd Future and featured on the collective’s first project, “Odd Future Tape.” As time passed, Veggies decided to leave Odd Future to chase his music career as a solo act. His ambition to take rap more seriously lead him to record with fellow California artist YG on his second mixtape. Music began to escalate for him after graduating high school and joining Mac Miller for his “Blue Slide Park Tour.”

Since then the young MC has performed with artists such as Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, Kendrick Lamar, Raheem DeVaughn, King Chip, and former groupmates Tyler the Creator, Hodgy Beats, and Domo Genesis. His resume of creative grind continued to grow in 2013 when he signed with VIC and Epic Records in February 2013 only a month after the release of his project, “Life Changes.” He would later collab with Rockie Fresh on the project “Fresh Veggies,” that released under Maybach Music Group and Peas n Carrots International in December 2013. By partnering with PUMA on the release, Veggies was able to secure nationwide tours and merchandise sponsors that elevated his brand. “Live and Grow,” his debut album was released in September 2015. As the theme suggests, a lot of growing and maturing went into this project that has given him the most commercial success to date.
