We’re a solid month and change from our A3C experience (October 4-8). This typically means, we supply you all with a steady stream of great music opportunities, among other things. We have yet another great opportunity for all you talented artists out there. Our friends at Red Bull are now accepting applications for their Red Bull Music Academy Berlin Chapter.
What Is Red Bull Music Academy?
Red Bull Music Academy is a world-traveling series of concerts, club nights, exhibitions, talks and workshops, that seeks to foster creativity in music. Its signature event is a month-long music workshop and festival that invites 60 artists from around the globe to a different city each year to learn and work together. This year’s Academy will be held in Berlin, the city where RBMA began 20 years ago.
During the month in Berlin, two groups of 30 participants attend in two-week sessions held at the Academy’s custom facility in the heart of the city – filled with art, meeting spaces, and 10+ custom recording studios open 24 hours a day for participants to use and create in.
Each day, the attendees hear informal lectures from music icons – past lecturers include Erykah Badu, Rakim, Questlove, D’Angelo, and many more – designed to inspire their own musical paths. They work in the studios with other participants, with help from studio mentors like Just Blaze, Hudson Mohawke, and Flying Lotus. At night, conceptual music events and concerts take place in venues across the city, where participants share stages with renowned artists.
Who Should Apply
Everyone who has a strong feel for music can apply – everyone from rappers to experimental producers to classical cellists.
Anyone who has a strong feel for music can apply – the only requirements are that they are 18 years old and English-speaking. Any music the participants create is 100% their own - Red Bull Music Academy has no rights to anything made at the Academy.
Red Bull Music Academy is an experience that many participants have described as “life-changing”. This is truly an amazing opportunity for any artist who is interested in growing and moving music forward.
